Is it possible to sign into Youtube anymore?

Sorry, I just don't get it. If someone can walk me through the process I'd appreciate it.

I have 2 different YouTube accounts but only 1 gmail account. Does that mean I have to create another Gmail account to be able to access both YouTube accounts? I've tried the "reset password" option but it sends me info using my username....which can't be used to login anymore.

 

Pretty much, yes. I had a problem with this.

My main email is linked to an old unused account. I opened it and changed the email. Logged into main to make main account linked to main email. That eMail is still technically linked to the old account and youtube refuse to unlink it. I don't get any emails to my main account. Have to check my other email. If I ever got offered partnership I wouldn't know about it.

 

What's strange is that my main YouTube account is linked with my hotmail account. But I can't use my username or hotmail account to sign in to the YouTube account. I guess I literally have to create a brand new Google account and use that to sign in since YouTube won't accept a username or non-google email to sign in....even though that's what my YouTube account uses. So in the end I'll have a username (can't use it to sign in), a hotmail account to get emails (can't use it to sign in), and a Google account used only to sign in.

 

Yep. It's total crap. You have to link your Hotmail account to link with the google account you then log in with.

Ie Japangames@hotmail.com links with Japangames@googlemail.com which you then log in with

In the case of my main email it is a ''Legacy'' account and that cant be changed.

 

OK, looks like I did have to create a new Google account with a new email, and now that's linked to my main YouTube account.

Cyantist, that didn't work. I tried logging in with my hotmail account but it would not work. I even did a password reset using my hotmail account (not my username) and it sent me an email to reset the password. But the password reset was for my username, not my hotmail. I reset the password but it did nothing when I tried to login using my hotmail account.

 

I have no idea then. The entire process is aload of over complicated bullshit.

 

I hate Youtube. It always logs in with my other account that I definitely do not remember setting up (something like xxxx89). My actual aveFger account I've been using for years got signed out very quietly and now I'm all of a suddon just browsing under this other name. I don't really know what to do about it because supposedly there's a conflict with my email adresses. If I log in as aveFger, with my right password and all, I might be logged in until the next time. But then I'm automatically recognized as xxxxx89.

Youtube just sucks. I don't know how people cope with it, uploading their shows and everything.

Certain John Lewis adverts came up advertising products I had been searching (Converse and flannel shirts). There was a link below the ad that explained why I was getting those adverts. Seems Google harvest your info and pass it onto companies like John Lewis. All this from merely searching.

Really if youtube wasn't a promising place for making money (I intend to edit video for a career and throwing vlogs up etc are a good way to get subscribers and thus get partnership) I just wouldn't use it.

User since 13th June 2006 here so I've seen youtubes slight increase to greatness and fall from grace. It wasn't too bad when Ad's began being employed and WMG did its mass takeover muting all videos with its music (Which I agree with especially in the case of partners using the music without permission because I use nothing but CC, royalty free or music I have permission to use)

When the shit hit the fan was when the designs were RADICALLY changed.

Youtube began making subtle changes that fucked everything up and forced them to redesign. First the bulletin boxes fucked up and took a month or so to fix. They came back and worked fine though. Then the videos watched counter broke and they never fixed it. Seeing that the old design of channels was well beyond repair they cut and run and created the new channels which sucked ass through a straw but you got used to. Gone were the bulletins, they replaced them later but they fucking suck now. Not nearly as good.

Then they redesigned the viewing page.

Moving the description below sucked. I couldn't read it while watching the video without scrolling which really blew ass but then they changed the video player to the black one we have now.

It blocks the video. While doing this it takes up 15% of the video, takes far too long to retract and videos load far more slowly now.

I refuse to complain about Vevo and WMG. WMG because they had every right to remove music and Vevo because its fantastic, allows music videos to be on youtube.
