    Hi all

I already have the MegaEverdrive for the Megadrive, which I know can also play Master System games.

If I buy the Master Everdrive, will it have better compability than the MegaEverdrive for those games?

I plan to buy a japanese Master System for the FM chip and all... Does the Master or the MegaEverdrive will take advantage of that chip?

    Thanks in advance

I have both, the MEGA-ED and the MasterED... if you like the SMS console and want to play on it then by all means get the MasterED.
If your console has the FM chip it will be utilized in games that support it without problems.
Currently there is no FM support on the MegaED.
You can also get a SMSFM unit ( http://members.iinet.net.au/~stinkyfist/reviletim/smsfm/smsfm.html ) and install it on non JP consoles... have one too and I really recommend you have a SMS1 to install this.

Master Everdrive would work with the Japanese FM Chip. Mega ED or the orig. ED do not. Personally it's not a huge loss.

Also, you cannot use the 3D glasses/adapter if you had them, unless you had a SMS or Power Base Converter and the Master ED. Not that the 3D effect was great, and the glasses are too small to fit on everyone's head. Zapper games work on either.

In terms of game compatibility, some PAL games will not work on a US or JAP SMS, but they WILL work on an NTSC Genesis. Yes, there are a few games that won't work on the Genesis in comparison, not as many though.

Lastly, SG-1000 games can only be played on a SMS not a Genesis, even with a PBC.

Yeah, plus you can use a Master System to Game Gear adapter and basically have the GG Everdrive. I've got my Master System modded with an FM board and it the music rocks!
