I have a game coming from Tokyo, Japan and it was sent last week and arrived in England 2 days ago.

I have seen some videos on the news saying levels of radiation in Tokyo are above normal.

you'll be fine. I'm pretty sure there are systems in place that would pick up something if it was radiating high levels of radiation.

    1. Radiation Level in Tokyo atm is just as normal as it is almost everywhere on earth.
    2. Non-living things usually can not get contaminated by low-radiation I and Cs particles from air.
    3. If you still worry, don't buy things from Japan. Period.

You ask too much of people willing to at least ask online but not willing to research. Yet at the same time western media is being so re****** on the matter that people might be weary.

Just pay no attention to the western media. All is fine. You have nothing at all to worry about.

I received package from Japan few days ago, but unfortunately it doesn't glow in the dark, so I would say it's perfectly safe to buy from Japan. It may end in utter disappointment (it won't glow, and you won't grow any extra limbs) since media are bullshitting and exaggerating almost everything to get more dramatic coverage.

Great just what I have been looking for

What have you got in stock?

But seriously if people believing all the media hype WTF... now if people are buying from the power plant then yeah.... probably a bad idea. Lets not forget Japan is a country and th majority is unaffected. You could also bet your mail would be redirected so it wouldn't go anywhere near the disaster zone and it may be chcked just in case, so I really don't understand some peoples reluctance.

DONT DO IT. Due to the abnormally average levels of radiation, Your package will basically get what's known as 'hulk syndrome'. When the game gets annoyed, It actually morphs into a giant green NES cartridge and throws itself towards you, breaking all things in its way.

If you didn't understand that, It's fine to import from there :)

Well, that's good to know. Just waitin' on my shipment of bathroom tiles. They're a rather fetching light blue colour with these weird white spots in the middle. Was told they might have a few cracks in them but I'm sure they'll be fine ;-)

I just ordered a set of games from Japan. My famicom glows in the dark, my gigermeter watch is going off the charts. One of my games grew an extra PCB, and my Famicom now shoots particle streams that catch ghosts. I'm pretty sure if I can overclock the Famicom to go 88kHz we'll be able to travel back to the 80's since it's radioactive like Doc Brown's Delorean.

I found these replies to be a little bit harsh really. The guy was asking an innocent question, which considering the media hysteria is understandable.

But on the other hand, such dumb questions also kinda implies that some peeps think that we who are living here must be already kind of mutants by now, since we must have gotten a zillion times of normal radiations.

It is a pity that you have to research information yourself to make any kind of balanced assessment, since all journalists do now is selectively reword reuters releases. Science stories are particularly prone to this.

Great post XD, this one made my day

Although the question really is kinda silly :p
If you´re afraid of the radiation it picks up in Japan you should better have everything, no matter where on the earth it comes from, shipped via ground just because it would pick up at least the same amount of radiation during a flight.

So don´t worry, if you still do you could ask the seller to wrap/mold it in lead, so it doesn´affect you, at least until you unpack it :p

Yeah, listen to Yakumo, he knows what he's talking about - he runs that SegaGeiger website!

Which, btw, you'd best avoid buying from, too! Yakumo has spoken! :p
