Hey Guys Last night I had trouble with my 360 for the first time. It's a Japanses edition bought at launch. I started to play Halo and I was in a lobby when I noticed that the background images in the lobby were distorted. It was like I was watching lower resolution graphics. I rebooted the 360 but there was no image. I heard the 360 logo sound but the screen stayed black. Usually I hear a click as my TV switches the display on, but there was no click. The screen remained black for another 5 seconds or so, then switched to some kind of garbled video signal. It was just green and pink/red lines on the screen. The XBOX was actually working. I was able to shut it down via the controller by position memory and the console also booted itself up when I turned the controller back on. I use a D-3 terminal and I tried a different terminal but nothing changed. I switched to composite video (also switching the 360 cable switch) but that did nothing. The other TV functions and video lines were working fine. There's no ring of death, either. Any tips?
I belive Parris has a similar problem to this with his 360 a while ago, and as i recall he did manage to sort it out, either give him a PM or have a search on the forum here and see if thats any help to you
That GPU might be all funky, this happened to me before a red light on my last system. After cooling down did it go back to normal? I do know Halo sometimes gives rainbow colors if you bring up the guide in a lobby.
I was able to play it for a while last night. I didn't think it would work because it went bad after about 5 minutes of gameplay a couple of nights ago, but it was able to handle about an hour last night. The color changed a bit as I was playing, from low to high resolution, plus there were some flickers on the screen. Time to talk to Parris...
