Lets take a refresher here: My computer does not have a built-in microphone, it has a line in and a line out, nothing else. the headphones i used have dual jacks, one for line in, one for line out. I rarely if ever connect the line in, My audio recorder is set to record from the line in Only. There is still no microphone present on this computer.... yet........if i run the sound recorder, i can pick up almost any audible noise around............without any microphones,.... Maybe I ate something that didn't quite agree with me, and is screwing with my head.....or should watch out for any other signs that the apocalypse is near? Seriously, what is causing this! Ryan
The headphone unit is what's causing it. Headphones and microphones are both identical at their most basic level of operation(vibrations). The main difference being that headphones are meant to take a source and vibrate the diaphram to convert an electrical signal into an audible sound. A microphone reverses the process, so if there is nothing driving the headphone, it will assume to role of a microphone.
would that also work if i were using the built in speakers as well? Dr. Slump....no webcam.... PhreQuencYViii....I snapped awhile back when i started having intelligent conversations with Maude (The Mini)....
any speaker can be a microphone really. Take for example the Wii remote's tiny speaker - Warioware does use it as a microphone in one game at least (the one where u have to capture the tune)
bah, have you ever not brought nintendo into a conversation? weird......though i still like the thought of my pc being possessed Ryan
LOL OT: Has the Wii Mini Desktop Racing, or Classic British Auto Racing been released yet over there 'Code?
No idea mate, haven't left the house in 2 weeks other than to go to the College. you can always check ign for their UK reviews though I guess. Does it contain any mini-related subjects?
