I think this is the appropriate forum to post this on, not sure since I'm new here, forgive me, if it's not. But here's the skinny, near the beginning of last moth a good friend of mine, and I purchased a IS Nitro Emulator from this eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-D...d=282414842120&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m2219 He purchased it, and held onto it until I had the funding to buy it from him for the exact same price as the listing, he received the unit about a day, or two later, and we tested it out, and of course it worked just as stated in the listing, so we constantly talk about it for a few weeks, go over the plan, and all that, and just a few days ago, on the 29th of December, I purchased him for it for the same price it was on eBay as planned, he wrapped it in a lot of bubble wrap, and put the unit into two boxes, along with a lot of paper. Now, here's where things start going down hill, when I plug the unit into the wall with my official 1st party Nintendo Game Cube AC adapter, the Power light on the main unit flashes for a split second, then goes right back off, and nothing happens, and it won't do it again, unless I unplug the AC adapter from the wall for around 2 minutes, and today I tested the AC Adapter with one of my GCs, and it works just fine with that, so, I unplug it from the GC, and plug it into the Unit, and the power light on the unit flashes on for a split second, as it has been doing, so then I unplug it from the unit, and into the GC, and the GC won't power on either, unless I unplug the AC Adapter from the Wall for around 2 minutes again. I'm not sure what's going on here, the IS NITRO DEBUGGER doesn't smell burnt, and when I opened it to take a look, everything looked fine, nothing was burnt, and the capacitors looked normal, so I'm unsure if the unit was dropped during shipping to me, or it's something else, or if it's the AC Adapter, any ideas?
You buddy must have played with the dip switches. Let me look up what switch you need to switch to rest the unit.
Alright try this. Switch dip switch number 4 to ON. Turn on the unit and the system light on the front should turn on. Wait a few minutes and a second light will turn on( i think the system 2 but i cant remember, i just remember a second light turned on after a few minutes). Then turn off the unit. Switch dip 4 back to off, and turn on the unit. If that doesnt work then its something else :/. But i bought i unit off a guy listed as broken because he was playing with the dip switched and it stopped working. So i looked up how dip 4 resets the firmware and when i did it, the unit was back to working. Good luck
Did you let it sit for a few minutes? I think mine took like 2 to 3 mins. But yeah if that didnt work, something internally might have got damaged :/ Bad luck :/
Also try and make sure all the other switches are turned to OFF when you do it But maybe try giving it like 5mins. I remember i gave up the first time since it was taking too long but then the sencond time i waited a bit longer and it worked
Alright, I'll try again, could you give me a link to where you found this info about the dip switches? It might be useful.
https://assemblergames.com/threads/is-nitro-emulator.31805/ This just tells you what they do. I just know my unit was thought to be broken since the handheld would boot up so i got mine working by switching dip 4 to do the reset and it worked. My unit was the original ds in that Hard4games is-nitro ds video.
