I was thinking about this recently, as I picked up a copy to play on the bus in Japan. Having played it quite a bit, I've only managed to top 100,000 a few times and the rocket sequence seems to appear after about 60,000 points, rather than about 100,000 on the European version.

This is of the greatest importance, as we have a Tetris scoreboard at work and my current highest score of 166,000 on the Japanese version is slightly off the highest UK score - if I can get proof that the Japanese version is harder, then I can merely claim the limited bragging rights that will follow;-)

If you are speaking of Tetris for GameBoy then the aswer is NO. All GameBoy Tetris cart contain same data. The only difference could be revision. You can check it by the "pressed" stamp on the sticker. If there is only number 03 its first version if there is letter after number 03A then its second version.
