Similar to the Grand Comic Database, or the barcode database? I tried googling it but didn't really find anything good.
You "googled" it, explaining the lack of useful results =P Try GameFAQs, MobyGames, allgame, and a dozen others.
One day I will be done w/ redoing my DB of games. However, it will only hold NTSC-J releases, but it will have the names complete w/ romaji, kanji, and their phoentic counter parts. It will never be done though I'm sure. In the meantime, a combination of vgrebirth (I've used it as a source many times) and Gamefags is probably best.
An imdb for games would be amazing. Listing all the production credits from the games, so we can see who worked on what. Also my favorite part of imdb is the trivia section for each movie, which would be great for each game.
I replied to one of the "new users" which have been spamming the place. Obviously that post got deleted...
Mobygames for a list of credits and some of the other sites mentioend for covers/reviews. Would be nice to combine but hey there's been a zillion games. Perhaps if someone created a specialised wikipedia page then that would be good. Wikipedia actually has a reasonable amount of information on it
I wanted to do a site like that, but those projects require a lot of time, resources and most of all: heavy community support Easier said than done, but hey if someone wants to join just PM me.
I started a Staff Roll as well; https://www.gamengai.com/credits_ix.php?type=etc&l=e Mainly for arcade games.
