Hey guys. I am currently undertaking the task of backing up all my PS2 Save files to my PC. I have 4 mem cards worth of precious RPG saves :)

Anyway my PS2 is softmodded so I can get the saves over to the PC through FTP which I have already done. The thing is all the saves (or most) have their ID numbers to identify them. I want to sort the saves by game however I dont know what ID is which game.

Some of the saves have giveaways in them like DBZ for dragonball but most are just the ID number.

Is there a site or something that lists the ID numbers so I can just go down the list and then seperate them into folders named for the games?

Please let me know and thanks!

You can back them up to the PS2's hard drive. (If you have one)

I really, really doubt you have more than 40 gigabytes of saves.

I ported all my saves to mine.

I don't remember the EXACT steps to do so, but its in the manual somewhere. You can't save directly to the Hard Drive, but you can port them over.

hmmm, didnt know that but im aiming to get them on my PC so I can burn them to a disc. I already have all the saves on my PC but they are in folders with the game IDs on them (lots of numbers) so I dont know which save is for what game. Therefore I cant sort them out :(

You should use Ulaunchelf to backup your saves in the .psu format, it can saves more infos than the ftp transfer, and it can display the nane instead of the game ID.
You can use the utility ps2savebuilder to open most common save file format used by codebreaker/ARMax/Xport/sharkport/Ulaunchelf to display the save icon.

Don't the save numbers match up the game numbers on the case/disc? Like SLPS-00001 for the first Ridge Racer. Don't tell me you don't have the originals ;-)

Hmmm.. I dont know lol. I will try that as its the most viable option right now but with 4 cards worth of saves I will have to write down a number and then go through all the games until I match it. Rinse and repeat several hundered times lol and its going to be a bitch.

I was hoping for a site or something that I could copy and paste in the number and get the game name but that might not be a reality.

I really suggest you to use Ulaunchelf and a usb flash device if you have one, at first Ule only display the save ID[IMG]
By pressing L1 and Square you can display the Save name instead
    [IMG]
Then use X to mark the saves you want to backup and R1 to open the menu, then select copy, go back up once, select mass: with your usb flash memory plugged in, R1 and use the function called psuPaste, you'll end up with
    [IMG]
Depending on the mode you were while selecting the saves(save ID or save name) you will end up with some .psu files on your flash memory.
Both .psu are identical on the picture, I opened the one called "ATV4 Profiles.psu" with PS2SaveBuilder

Thanks I think that may work. I can try to use uLaunch Elf to see the names then just copy them on a piece of paper and play match up. I really dont want to have to copy them again but I will if I have to. Thanks for all the help guys!
