Is there a way to improve this Famicom composite mod? or add S-VHS? pics inside

Hiya!

I just got my Famicom that is composite modded and I would like to know if there is a way to improve on the existing mod or have it output S-VHS ... I only tested it on my LCD tv sets and I get these results:



I assume it will be better on my CRT tv but I am waiting for my ntsc->pal converter so I can't test it there atm.

It seems to me that the PPU has been shielded with an extra piece of metal.

There's no way to get s-video unless you first mod it for RGB. I've done the shielding mod before and it helps reduce jailbars.

 

ah, thanks for the info gcfernandez ... did not knew that svhs needs the rgb ppu. tbh I won't bother more with it since I have no interest in making it rgb and there are no visible jailbars
I will mod the ntsc->pal converter internally and be done with it
