I've got boxes full of old video game magazines that are taking up so much room. Is there a market for these things? They're aren't full collections by any means but I do have tons of them by the year, mostly of EGM and Nintendo Power. Sometimes, people do post on these boards looking for ads or articles and I'd feel guilty knowing that I'd be able to help had I not thrown them out. Anybody want any? I'll post a pic or make a listing if people are interested.
I bet a lot of people would like to buy some older ones, such as myself....old EGM was always fun to read.
I might be interested in some old Nintendo Powers. What years or issue numbers do you have? I'm not asking for an exact list as it sounds like you have a bunch, but just an estimated range if you could.
I'd buy any that have any mentions to Phantasy Star articles or Shenmue . By the way, madhatter, if you read this, I'll get to you tomorrow.
For Nintendo Power, I have: Issues 39 (Aug 92) - 64 (Oct 94) and Issues 81 (Feb 96) - Vol 120 (May 99). There are just a few that I wanna keep and most of them still have their posters, especially the newer ones.
Wow, I bet those '92 ones would be a blast to look through. If us dudes were to buy some of these mags how much do you think the shipping and stuff would be?
I honestly don't know. It can't be more than $2 unless I'm shipping overseas or someone wants a huge grip of them in which case the weight would drag the price of shipping higher.
I love retro gaming so much... if you had something from the eighties it would rock, but the nineties were absolutely awesome as well. I'd love to have a whole bunch of them, but I'm seriously in need of a re-organization in my inhabitation space, as much as I am in need of a replenishment of monetary resources. Therefore, I'll sadly pass this great offering. I wonder what the price of shipping to Mexico would be, for a decent bunch, though.
if you got anything with articles/ pictures on m2 related stuff i would take them hunting down already stuff on ebay for that reason =)
The only REALLY useful (and subsequently only issue I ever bought) of Nintendo Power was issue number 1. The Zelda and Metriod maps alone make that thing worth a combine full of mezcal!
I have a 2 page article from Next Generation Magazine, May 97 issue that talks about Power Crystal and interviews the developers Perceptions a bit. If your interested I can make a scan of them since I planned on scanning the whole magazine for an archiving project I'm doing.
call me a cheap bastard, which i am, but what about creating an online thingy like that for all those old mags, it could really take off, have them all scanned in there, not the whole mag of course, but selected stuff, reviews and general weird stuff.. thats just my two cents, wait no make that one cent
I actualy have a next-gen mag with a four page interview with the crators of that game (Power Crystal), along with several other big and in-depth articles on the system itself. I offered to scan them like over half a year ago, but no one was interested.
Might be the same one. Does the cover look like this? I'm actually working on something like this except it will contain the full magazine. (Some people like to look at the ads for old games.) I have a small collection at the moment and hoping to have a variety of magazines from Nintendo Power, Sega Visions, EGM, Next Generation, etc before I can put it up.
great to hear that.areyou looking to put it on a website or a ftp?.also, i was able to get a few nextgen mags, and i find them to be some of the best, i'd like to see alot of the older ones uploaded...also,if you need some more mags to put on the site thingy, i'd be pleased to put some up.as long as it isnt those 400 page egm's lol
Rob Fury, I'm interested in almost anything you have, especially if you have EGMS from 89-91, which I am missing a few. Let me know what you have. -Sean Hubertys@msu.edu
