Is there an issue with eBay US Global Partner shipping?

WTF? Why would the seller be charged instead of the buyer.

Then again I can't speak from experience. I've never paid import tax, US post office very rarely uses it for items of this nature.

 

Pretty much this, the GSP is definitely a way for ebay to profit even more. As a Canadian, I can second that you dont normally get extra charge when standard USPS is used.
However, our dear government is definitely aiming toward ways to tax the online international commerce. A friend of mine had a pretty valuable item shipped with USPS and it was declared with full value as a trade good and they sent him a tax bill for it. Although, this never happened to me. I seldom have packages from the us with a declared value above 100$ and I just make sure to never have anything shipped to me with UPS or Fedex unless its like 20$ or less. I learned those tricks the Hard way, like most other canadian ebayers...

 

Yeah the situation is unfair. Nice as zero fees are, USPS forfeits millions to give us such paradise treatment.
