Is there an undocumented GameCube model? My closest friend has this weird DOL-001.

So my closest friend's mother found their old GameCube today. It is a DOL-001 and after hooking it up, it works fine. The weird thing is, this DOL-001 has a hole for the unused serial port 2 but lacks the port itself. It wasn't removed by them because the hole has the RF shield under it so it seems like Nintendo made it like that. Here is a pic of it: Snapshot_20150326.JPG Snapshot_20150326_1.JPG Snapshot_20150326_2.JPG

Images looks fine on my screen. Then again, my brightness is all the way up. I don't have proper lighting at her house so I couldn't take bright pics.

    Mystery Solved!

So I researched this a bit and found out there are in-fact 3 models of the GameCube:

The DOL-001 Revision A (launch model and has Serial Port 2; I once had this model).

The DOL-001 Revision B (lacks Serial Port 2; this is the model that belongs to my closest friend).

The DOL-101 (lacks Serial Port 2 and the Digital AV port; mine is this model).
