I was playing through all the X games about a year ago. After X4 they went south hard. X5 I stumbled through, then I barely made it through X6. I then tryed out X7 and I had it. I wont play anything after X4(which on I love ^^) anymore from now on lol. MegaMan is made to be in 2D and thats where I want him to stay. The only new MegaMan games I want are the Powered UP series. MegaMan PU is great and I love it, I really am hoping and praying there will be a PU2 since MegaMan 2 is my all time favorite game and what got me started on gaming!
I hear you there man... It started going downhill all after X4... Infact, I wasnt really a big fan of X4 either. It was the last one that I considered truly playable though... X1-X3 on the SNES will always be in my heart! Megaman X needs to stay in 2D. His 2.5D didnt impress me one bit... :crying:
Capcom completely changed the formula for Mega Man X7 and it was a complete fiasco. Slow gameplay with a broken game engine, sub-par story, and crappy voice acting? No thanks. Oh and there was the horrific camera, abysmal level design, excruciating difficulty, and . . . Zero. He sounded like a gruff, muscular porn star. IMO, X7 is the complete opposite of X1. Ok, the 3D portion of X7 was best part. Though the switches to 2D and the 2D segments with lock on were awful.
When the intro stage in a Mega Man game is almost impossible we have a problem. Not to mention you don't play as X right away and AXL is the worst character ever!
Well as a stand alone game I thought X7 was ok, but as a MegaMan X game is waaaaaay down the list. Below X5 and X6 which I thought were pretty average and unnotable.
Sucked ass. One of the few games I bought, played for 2 hours, and sold for a huge loss. And Capcom fires Clover Studio... not these idiots who make an awful game (in all areas).
