It certainly looks very familiar. I seem to recall the original PS2 coming in blue like that, for sure.
No, I have one just like this and the build quality is laughable, the lid warps to reveal that it isn't genuine. All the after markets started having the Sony logo eventually, the Piano Black & Ceramic White versions do look very close to genuine.
The original Fat had a limited edition of the ocean blue color (same exact color as the controller in the picture) in Japan, but I don't ever recall the slim having that color. I actually have never owned a slim PS2 but I believe there should be certain obvious things on the console such as a model sticker and serial number that can easily distinguish a replacement case from a real Sony manufactured one.
The only real way to know is to open the case and look at the manufacture 'clock' inside, most third party ones are either blank or have makeshift dots added afterwards, Sony ones have clear, precise date stamps. That colour never launched in the UK I know that as I worked in videogame retail throughout the PS2 era, and having one the same colour and looking at the build quality, it isn't close to Sony's plastics.
it is a real color we sold them a short time at gamestop. but we only had one of blue and one of red.
