Does anybody know, which Powersupply i need for use in Germany? A Original Mega Drive II Powersupply doesn´t work. The plug doesn´t fit to THIS MD2. THX
Cool! Clone hardware looks funky! Date stamps around 1999, so quite a late clone (unless you are in Brazil :wink-new If I had to guess which power supply it uses I would have said MD2 straight off the bat. As that has just been ruled out, I would then second guess a Mega Drive 1 PSU. However, are there any markings near the DC-in to indicate which polarity (centre negative or centre negative) the adapter needs to be? Getting the polarity reversed / back to front might blow it up, or it might do no damage. Giving you the opportunity to swap it around and have another try! That's only if there are no markings on the back of course! :smile-new:
You will need a multi-meter to test to see which pin is ground. Have it on continuity, hold one pin on the ground (outside area) and touch the centre pin and then the barrel. Whichever buzzes will let you know.
Oh... that's a much safer and better way to do it! :biggrin-new: Maybe I'm just an inherent risk taker!
YES, this ie what someone told me on first page. No infos about where is + and where is - Only 1V 850ma. And the Plug is different to a PAL MDII...
LOL so what is the polarity? Tested it yet? Keeping us all waiting on the edge of our seats? I'm betting centre negative and an MD1 shaped plug. :smile-new:
Yes! center is negativ - is connected to the Heatsink... I don´t have a Mega Drive I powersupply now - so i can´t tell if it is the same plug!
Take a picture and put it up. You can *almost tell by looking (ratio of pin to outside barrel). It should be a standard 5.5 x 2.1 plug.
He He! ;-) i bought a German Mega Drive 1 Power Supply. it´s on the way. I will answer as sonn as i get it!
SURPRISE! Got my Power supplies today! WORKING! ;-) -=inside and +=outside! BUT: I only have one Game (Columns, Hang on and Soccer in one Cartridge) - so i can´t say if it is PAL or NTSC...
Now that's what I like to hear! :congratulatory: To tell between PAL / NTSC you could check to see if there are any borders around the games. Oh and that silly jitter down the bottom of the screen.
