I live in the US and this controller is right in my price range. I don't know much about Saturn controllers so I can't tell if this is 3rd party, I'm pretty sure it is. I just need to know if it is a piece of shit. For all I know it could be great. I found it while searching for the bomber man joypad I heard about in another thread. here's the EBay link, it's $8.99 and it's in the US which is where I reside. If anyone has used this I would love to hear about it. Please let me know if this thing is trash before I buy it. I want to use it with Radiant Silvergun by the way.
i have a black one of them, not the worst I’ve used but a weird shape, they work fine though but are not nearly as good as an official saturn pad or some other 3rd party controllers.
thanks for the feedback on the controller synrgy. The controller doesn't look that bad, I really only want it for the turbo switches and I like the yellow.
Of course it's unofficial - do you see the Sega logo anywhere? Innovation isn't Sega. The best controllers for Saturn are the official ones, and you want to have those, really. You won't get turbo buttons, but turbo buttons suck, anyway. They're not that expensive second hand. I got on OK with the Eclipse controller for Saturn, but they weren't everyone's cup of tea. This one looks pretty hideous, though - pretty uncomfortable, I'd say!
Yeeesh, that looks uncomfortable (or at least inconvenient). Granted, I wouldn't know too much about Saturn stuff, but things that stick out to me include: -The Start buttons being small and roughly the same size as the Turbo slider nubs, alongside not being grouped away from the sliders. (A failure all around here.) -The placement of the X-button sucks by virtue of the unnecessary "bulge" in the middle; it either looks like the left side of the button isn't as exposed as the other sides, or the button is placed at a slant. Not a good result either way. -The A/B/C buttons seem like they're a little too low, which is a problem since they're concave. -Something 'bout the D-Pad looks off to me for some reason... maybe it's the glossy, cheap-looking plastic (compared to the matte-ish finished D-Pad of an OEM Saturn Pad), the flatness of it (again, compared to the slight concave OEM D-Pad), and it otherwise just looks rigid. -The plastic of the controller looks like it's disgustingly cheap and brittle. -I could only find one review of this controller (2/5). Granted, it doesn't go into too much detail; it's still the only thing I could find on this, though. -I've had a bad history with Innovation/Innovations controllers (this being a prime example). To use that controller as reference, the buttons were very loose and shaky (they literally rattled; it was that bad), the D-Pad was also very loose and a bit shaky, the plastic was shoddy crap (dropped it from ~3 feet up, and a chunk of it shattered off)... ugh.
If you have to go with 3rd party I would recommend Hori or Naki. They make some pretty 3rd party stuff. They both also have the turbo function. Here is a picture of the naki controller if you can find one http://segaretro.org/images/9/95/ControlPadNaki_Saturn_Box_Front.jpg
I have a question about the Sega Saturn, I heard everyone talk about the arcade ports on the system but I looked up some of the games and they just seem like normal games and I did not know there were like 500 games for it. So someone please explain to me about the Saturn games and is it worth to buy and worth to buy a arcade stick.
