    That reminds me of something:

During the last days of Saturn in Europe, A local videogames magazine was giving some anime VHS movies, and almost all of them came with some Saturn Trailers.

Amongst them they were Sega Touring Car, Last Bronx, and... A one-minute long (Not very sure about its lenght) CGI intro of Virtua Fighter III. I don't know what was the meaning of this. Did they intend to make a Saturn port or VF3, or was only extra material to make the trailers compilation more appealing to the buyers?

This video came from after Yu Suzuki's announcement that - to paraphrase - "team AM2 will have researched into the possibility of Saturn Virtua Fighter 3 and concluded that it can be done, so expect the best." If you're not familiar with Yu's confirmation of Saturn VF3 going into development, it happened at the very same Power Up show where AM3 revealed the first tech demo of Last Bronx running on Saturn and the official unveiling of Fighters Megamix, plus another then-still-untitled mystery project that many wrongly presumed to be Virtua Cop 3 when actually it was Digital Dance Mix. Anyway, thanks for your comments - that's the first I've heard of the VF3 segment coming from the CG intro, and in terms of teaser material it seems more likely Sega would have used that instead of arcade footage as there's no way the Saturn could have emulated graphics of Model 3 quality... even if AM2's programmers were capable of pushing the hardware to previously unseen levels, as witnessed in the Shenmue prototype from around the same period (though perhaps slightly earlier, as development had switched to Dreamcast before Saturn VF3 was cancelled if the timeline I've managed to put together is correct)!

    ^some line breaks please

The video contains some CG footage and something like 'coming to Sega Saturn'. I can capture it sometime..
Oh and the package is real, it's just an added sleeve (and video tape).

The VHS I have doesn't talk about arcades, it's just inserted in the middle of a lot of Saturn Trailers.
This is the CG I remember. Looks like it was recycled for Virtua Fighter 3 Team Battle for Dreamcast.

I don't know If I still have my copy of the video. Given the fact that my VCR began to "magically" work again, I should check it before I forget again.

Yup, those ones. The first Dragon Ball Movies, before switching the trailers to Nintendo 64.

Manxx TT was in the first ones, those with the annoying "se enfría la comida" yelling. In the last Sega sponsored tapes, It was changed to the Virtua Fighter one.

Well, who knows? At that time almost nobody had an internet connection, And news didn't fly so fast as nowadays, so if you saw a VirtuaFighter 3 intro between a whole bunch of saturn ads, you could only think of something like "OMFGTHEYREDOINVIRTUAFIGHTER3SATURNIMGONNAWETMYPANTS" and wish for the best.

In my case, I was stuck with FX Fighter in the PC. Life can suck indeed.

Though one must say that only the sleeves (i.e. Christmas Nights) were carrying different serials, the consoles under the sleeves were always HST-0014's (like the CN christmas gift styled Saturn whose sleeve carries the number HST-0017).

I've seen this Saturn package several times before so it's definately not fake!

But as i never bought one i don't know if there's anything Virtua Fighter 3 related to it. The "Sega Magazin" in Germany told a lot of shit during the end of the Saturn era. E.g. they told that Scud Race will be released on the Dreamcast (in fact they just saw a video of the Arc 1A demo) and they never got tired of telling the world about the 64-bit Saturn add-on.

I know there were some HK dealers producing there own bundles - i saw a Dreamcast boxed in a ShenMue box once. It was not official but today i'm sad that i didn't bought it.

Remember that sometimes conversion to a .JPG format tends to make it look like that. ;)

I'm not familiar with overseas console packaging variations, but if this is a genuine item then it's the first time I've seen an official Sega promotion for Saturn Virtua Fighter 3 - apart from the game's brief appearance on a release date list at the Sega of Japan site back in early '98 and Yu Suzuki's original announcement of the conversion being started, of course!
