I bought Oracle of Ages on eBay a few days ago advertised as authentic and it seems very suspicious. Immediately I noticed the board says 1998 when Oracle of ages didn't even come out until years later. The board also seems slightly discolored and the sticker has some kind of gooey stuff underneath on one spot where the number is imprinted. Here's some pictures I took. Top row is a genuine copy of Oracle of Seasons and the bottom is the suspicious Oracle of Ages
All of my GameBoy Color games say 1998 on them, and they're definitely not fake, but I can't comment about the sticky thing.
Looks legit. If it was fake the pcb would be different as would be the plastic. Your cart just looks like it's been sitting in direct sunlight alot.
It's original. Both of my Zeldas have "1998" PCBs. Also bootlegs mostly come with blobs instead of MBC chips.
That's legit the 1998 is just a copyright date, the real date code is the gold rectangles and number above them. I use those to authenticate pokemon games all the time and have never seen fakes even attempt to fake that.
I can check my Copy of seasons for the PCB date, its probably just nintendo copywriting the boards and having them made in 98, and still using them till years later
