Hi all is this chip the same as the stock ram in the original xbox. The part seems to be the same as mine but mine has "Samsung 337" http://www.aliexpress.com/item/K4D263238F-QC50-100-import-new-original/981870087.html The numbers down the bottom are differant too thanks
Looks great. If you dont want to desolder some proven to be genuine ones. 2 risks but i might try it aswell 1, fakes, china is known for rebranding old stock or just plain faking it. 2, dead ones and they cant test them, as-is. Good luck (im about to order some custom pcbs and spend 30 usd on ic's with hopefully work Aswell.)
Hmm, tempted to order a few of those, I have about a dozen Xbox laying about just asking to be modded.
Are you going to mod the XBox by doubling its RAM capacity? Datasheet for the Samsung DDR SDRAM: http://www.datasheetarchive.com/dlmain/Datasheets-29/DSA-568849.pdf and http://www.datasheetarchive.com/dlmain/Datasheets-29/DSA-569281.pdf Interestingly enough, there are variants designed to operate at a higher clock than the one you are looking into. These chips are also sold individually on ebay at a "decent" price.
One other thing, IS it worth upgrading the RAM, what benefits will I gain on a system that is mainly used for retail discs (TSOPED)
The term "tsop'ed" really annoys me. "On my xbox with the tsop flashed" just about works for me, but "tsop'ed" makes me angry.
Oops sorry bout that haha TSOP is just the package right haha terms like yold annoy me (OF DEATH!!! It's hardware it was never alive !?)
