Could we possibly have checking/asking threads stickied in each system sub forum? What I mean is, we seem to be getting shit loads of new threads started in Rare and Obscure asking about CD's and disks etc. Everyday a new user is posting up a picture of some crap game nobody cares about asking IS THIS RARE11!!!11!! I found it free with a magazine etc. So would it not be a good idea to have a thread stickied in the sony, sega etc forums which allows people to post their finds in a similar fashion to the request value thread in the Marketplace? Knowledgable people who lurk in those sections could then comment and help out rather than have the newbies suffer the same post over and over again which is usually "google it...does this really belong in rare and obscure?" etc. It would keep things more organised too. Just a thought.
Those sections are actually for talking about game development on each system (hence the main category title above them). For me, this would be way too off topic.
If it's not rare and posted in the Rare section I or another mod will move them to the general gaming section :thumbsup: But please, people, don't post crap such as cover discs or store promotion in the rare section. They are not rare. Rare is something like a sample disc direct from a studio or some obscure bit of gaming hardware. Yakumo

I can't see a topic just for asking about an item here because there already is one and for the most part the questions go unanswered. These "is it rare" questions are just to circumvent the "have a mod ask for me what an object is worth" process. To lump the "is it rare" questions together in any way will just make it more obvious and won't go over. My vote would be to change the "what is it worth" process but I think it is something they feel strongly about and I don't see it happening. If you feel the need for this "what is it worth" process then these "is it rare" posts will just be an unwanted by product.
Yeah, I was guilty. PC Engine and Playdia are acceptable but PlayStation? No way. It's the most common form of modern video gaming on the planet. Personally I think rare is something that we hardly ever see or even know about.
There are rare samples for every console, at least up to Dreamcast I can name 5 or more samples for every console that are insanely hard to come by. Posting a request about a rare PlayStation store sample can't be that bad. I think the "what's this item worth?"-thread isn't so much of a good solution for us users, but it keeps the volume down and increases the amount of answered requests. It also keeps annoying requests away and motivates people to take a look on ebay prior to contacting a moderator here to post his request. I know several other forums in which people ask again and again what that stupid Xbox 360 game X limited edition might be worth right now. Or what should I pay for Headhunter - Dreamcast? 10 rather than 12 Euros? Oh man!
