I wasn't sure if this should go in the willing to buy area or what.
I really want to get a sharp twin famicom and then have the rgb board installed on it. to save on shipping i'd even consider having the console shipped directly to the person doing the modding, as I don't have the console in hand yet.

    Anyone have any leads here?
    Thanks!

Since you haven't bought it yet, I recommend posting a WTB in the Want to Buy section of the marketplace. Ask for a premodded console.

If you wanna skip analog video, Kevtris's Hi Def NES board (NESHD) is almost done and will let you get HDMI out of the Twin. This will provide a better image and even have a scanline generator.

I second this. DO NOT use drakon. He will destroy your console and turn it into a bucket of hot glue.

so ive heard. don't worry, im doing research generally, but will try to look in to the work of anyone who's able to provide the service. it seems to be hard to find.

also curious if the RGB mod to a twin fami extends to the disc system part or just for the fami carts.

The disk system isn't an entire new system so it will work.

The Famicom still generates the video signals. The only thing on the disk system is normal floppy disk drive circuitry that allows you to read/write disks and the actual 3 inch floppy drive (not to be confused with standard 3.5 inch drives in PCs). The rest is in the RAM cart, which just basically allows the Famicom to use floppies instead of carts and provides an extra sound channel. It doesn't generate its own video signals at all. The switch on the console just enables/disables the built-in RAM cart.

One more thing, try to get a later model Twin Famicom with turbo buttons and an LED power light. They have longer controller cables that are the same size as normal American/European NES controllers. They are rare so if you can't find one, you could always see if someone is willing to make a NES to 15 pin Famicom controller adapter for you.
