I love majora's mask, however for some reason it's stopped saving. I played through the first 3 day cycle, went back in time and it saved fine. Now it no longer saves. It goes back to the first save I had done for those first 3 days. Am I missing something?
If it's gone back to a previous save it's possible your newer save file got corrupted. Some games will retain phantom save data in case the latest save get damaged. I don't recall as it's been so long, but does the ED64 need you to press or hold reset to ensure your save data is written to the SD card? If the problem remains you might try clearing out your old save file, or maybe trying a different version of the ROM. I believe Majora's Mask is one of the games that uses FlashRAM rather than SRAM or EEPROM. There is probably a hacked version out there that uses SRAM that was originally intended for the backup units like Z64, Doctor V64, and CD64. That might be something to try if you keep having problems.
^^ all of the above! :friendly_wink: and yes, it does! ... i had a similar issue with conkers bad fur day, but that was down to bad habits on my part... as you know, the in-game save GUI works as it should, but i made the mistake of NOT pressing reset and it murdered the file...destroyed it's function as a usable save! it was deleted, started new and made sure to stay on the ball, no bad juju since! ... i do know that 'proper procedure' wasn't followed correctly this side! ... it's worth pointing out that i couldn't get the 'state loader' to work (when a save/eeprom is selected AFTER it's generated) but 'favorites' was fine! the ED os (or syscalls? wtfdik? beyond paygrade and counters the buzz thinking about it) seem to use it's generated save properly, provided the standard routes are taken! (for eeprom/nvram etc games, press reset AFTER you've used the actual in-game save gui, NOT before, or it's f*cked and have to start new)
