Howdy! I was curious if anyone has run into any legal issues with selling obsolete dev stations like the Dreamcast Katana. I ended up with 6 complete systems after my work transitioned to XBox and PS2 about 4 years ago and were about to dump the whole lot. I sold a few systems then but Sega came after me hard and I ended up buying a couple of the systems back to pacify them. Has Sega lost interest yet? I'm getting sick of looking at these things I just put a Playstation DTL-H1201 system with docs up on Ebay so I'm testing the waters in Ocean Sony now. Which company is the most lenient with selling obsolete dev kits?
Everything up to but excluding current gen seems to be OK. Although PS1 and DC are both still being devved on, so perhaps they are still a little sketchy
you can try off loading a few here. Might not get as much vs Ebay but you can get away with not getting shit from sega (dont think any sega people are here).
Thanks, guys! Yeah, just as I thought Ebay yanked the DTL-H1201 for violating their "Mod Chips, Game Enhancers and Boot Discs" policy. Booooo! Retards.
really? well, in the dc case, i knew there was some shoot'em ups released by time to time in japan, but on ps1? when was the last game released on ps1 anyway?
NOt too sure about PS1 but yeah, the Dreamcast is still being used in Japan but saying that I've seen DC Dev kits on Ebay before without being pulled off. You'd be best selling them here anyway. Like subbie said, you probably won't get as much for them but at least you'll be safe knowing that they aren't going to call Sega on you. Yakumo
Every now n then a PS1 game pops up - usually a sport or dancing game. Basically its become a dumping ground for budget games
PS1 is dead (at least in NA). I programmed one of the last few ps1 games to be published just a little more then a year ago. It wasn't pretty by any means (the game).
Hey, if your willing to sell a DC kit at a reasonable price I'm willing to take one !! (one recently sold for less then 200 BPS
