So I've been messing with a xbox with my smartxx v2 chip in it for the last few hours. Trying to get it to load a bios off a CD so I can flash a bank, It wont read the disc even though its a known good drive and here's the real problem... Even when I'm loaded into Smartxx ED@Chip to try to FTP the file into the HDD instead, the user and pass is default "xbox" and "xbox" but my FTP program is telling me that my login is incorrect and that the connection has failed... What gives? Edit: That was the MOST backwards way I ever had to do to fix an issue with a modchip!! I had to FTP files onto a second modded xbox, copy them to a memory card, manage to get HeXEn to load on the SmartXX xbox so I can use its File manager, copy the new bios' over to that ones HDD. Then I was able to flash the Bios banks aswell as update from the Ed@Chip v0.0.4 to the most recent available one I could find, Which finally allowed me to FTP into the xbox properly. Now where I'm at currently is trying to get the damn thing loading the correct dashboard I want. What a pain, shelving this project for the night.. Ive already destroyed One xbox IDE cable during this entire process tonight =P
I'm glad I own one but yea, damn is it a headache to work with. Ive worked with the first version Smartxx chip before and it wasn't as much as a pain as this v2 chip was. Atleast I was able to FTP into the other xbox without having to go through all the trouble I had to last night with this new chip.
Nice job. I used to have many smart xx v2's. I sold a few and installed the rest. It's a great chip once you sort out your issue's with it. The ftp'ing should have worked though.
