preview and review are not the same thing. If it's review, if not gold it is probably close to final build. As it is preview, it's possible it could be a beta thus prototype, though it is not always the case. Get hold of it and boot it, the only way to find out for sure
It is on the other hand PAL, which as it originally was a Japanese game released by Irem and the PAL version was released by Sony, means it's more then likely to be the final game with a few tweaks for PAL, localistion and probably a different title screen. I have a preview copy of Odin Sphere on PS2 and it's basically the full game but in English and a different title screen (for release dates....).
You could be right but I don't believe the release dates will help here unless the build date of the disc was known, which it isn't at present. If we assume it is a preview release with PAL localisation, it could still have been compiled some time before a review version so it could still be a way off from retail build. Of course it could just be a near final review copy on preview disc though. As before, buy it, check it, job done
looking at the disc closer it does say "Promo Only" so maybe it's just an unexciting demo. As the disc is a printed disc (as you can see the black back on the spindle hole) it's unlikely to be anything that exciting.
I think we should describe them as just what they have been called/labeled. So, like this one, a Preview Version. I think a Sample, Preview, Review or another type all have the potential to have beta qualities, but I think it is just best to describe them like that (after version/title given to them).
