    This is the best thing George Lucas has ever done. Although I personally like the special editions of the og tilogy. At least the man knows how to listen to his fans.

    Yeh, the VHS copies I have are worn out from age. Thank God its on DVD format now without the "special effects".

    i vaguely recall lucas at one point stating that he didn't care if the fans wanted the original theatrical cuts on dvd because the special ones were his vision of the film and that was what mattered.

    It was about time. I just wonder how many more ways they ll find to milk the Star Wars universe. Hats off to Lucas. Made one movie and made his fortune ever since.

    You know, I could swear I saw the non-updated version of Empire with the transparent snow-speeder cockpits, on cable, last night.

    I think it was on Fox Latin America.

    hope they are remastered like the new dvds,but without all the edits :), i have dvds of the theatrical version in widescreen ;). They are rips of the LD.
