Know this been discussed before, but just realised the game was mentionned on the maximum carnage registration card: So I was wondering if you knew about any other mention of the game (in magazines or so on) ?
I have been given cast iron assurances by a collector / friend I respect immensely that copies of this exist, and that he has been provided with piccies of a copy from another collector he knows (former active member here) who owns a copy. Sadly my friend was not at liberty to share the piccies, but he has never (to my knowledge) told gaming BS. (Which as an aside, puts me in a very difficult position as I simply don't believe it exists without proof, but I also simply do not disbelieve my friend on this. Hmmm...) I'm pretty sure I have a JP mag or two that refers to it also, but I'll need to check that when time permits. There was a German mag from 1994 (?) I believe too that references a JP version (I was sent a scan a few years back). (Iirc it is also listed in the mini JP Lost MD games book (forget the exact name) as not released, albeit that is clearly not a contemporary source.)
It didn't come out, never seen any proof that it did. It may have made it on to a Chinese Pirate cart though. Many unreleased Mega Drive games were dumped in the 90's (when people used those old floppy disk copiers) so people get confused about what games were and weren't genuinely released.
This year, I've had the chance to see the picture of another supposed never released megadrive game so I really don't know what to think. It's really strange that the game actually appears on the reg card of another one if it wasn't, at least, ready for release. I'll check my megadrive fans, not sure I have all copies for the 1994 year though.
Its not unusual for an unreleased game to be mentioned in the manual or other paperwork of a game that did come out. There were hundreds of cancelled games for the Mega Drive many of which were finished, while it seems crazy that they weren't released to recoup money, but back then development costs of a game were less than actually producing the carts of it to sell.
Okay, I really need to dig through my stack of magazines... Megadrive fan, july 1994. No mention of the game in the may, june and august issues, I don't own any later issues. Just though that the game wasn't mentionned on the segabase, but tetris (okay, wasn't actually released) go net and the other banking stuff weren't neither so... mystery needs to be solve
? ?? ??? I must have read your post a dozen times and I'm not sure what you mean? Pics are the kind of proof I need lol, save for only the most relaible friends / contacts...hence why I am in such a quandry on Itchy! I simply can't disbelieve my friend, but I can't believe either without proof! Haha. Anyway... Warlock? ??? ?? ? Edit - this post is a response to Hey, you know what it is "I show you the pics but we agree that the game does not exist". I got distracted during my reply.
Yup, same for me. What I meant (sorry for my poor english, didn't improve in so many years lol), I was shown pics of a supposedly never released game but the guy that showed me the pics told me that I must not show the pics to anyone else (same thing that was told to your friend) but also that I shouldn't even mention the name of the game or the doors of the hoarders would be closed to me lol
huh? i remember this game being previewed in a UK megadrive mag i may still own, with screenshots. it had concept art too. one bit was a three legged machine similar to the one in that terrible snes game chester cheeto, with the cat controlling it. I might still have it, god knows! is this the game your talking about?
Do you remember the name of the magazine and maybe the issue? I have all major German multiformat magazines from 1994 and I have a couple of 1994 issues of 2 German SEGA-only magazines as well. If you know where they published it, I can have a look once I get my hands on them.
