I honestly don't know what I've been doing wrong. Any auctions I've had have been selling for terrible prices. People bid up by at least $0.50 and items sell low sometimes costing more to ship than what I got paid. Even trying to list as Buy It Now + Best Offer, I have difficulties selling items. Regardless of Auction or Buy It Now format, I barely get any views even listing 10 day auctions. I'd be lucky if I got over 30 views in the 10 day period. So, I'm a top-rated seller and have been for more than 3 months. Over 200 Feedback Score. 100% Positive Feedback. Just about 5 Stars DSRs. I always offer Free Shipping and Returns. Can't even sell PS2 Games for $1.00 each. What am I doing wrong? myworld.ebay.com/cscerbo732
Maybe you're not selling hot items? I could constantly sell loose Xboxes, I'm not going to make much profits by doing so.
Still, people are selling items I've listed for more than I have. I put my eBay in the bottom of my first post.
Possibly postage costs? Usually if something is heavy, I roll the price of postage into the asking or starting price of the item. It attracts more people to bid.
1. Your photos aren't the greatest. I know mine aren't anything to brag about, but that PS2 game auction you've got up right now is pretty blurry. 2. You're with the global shipping programme. That shit is cancerous and drives international customers far far away, because having to pay $60 for a damn jewel-case CD is pants-on-head retarded. Why does this auction have much better photos than the rest? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Gram-S...826829?hash=item3ab4a52c4d:g:s~kAAOSwo6lWHsnW Maybe you should try taking photos on that white background for some other things.
I have no problem selling my old DVD. sure it's cheap at $6-9 per title but they are selling well... for game wise I sold my Pokemon edition GBA Micro for $500 not so long ago...
Try picking a dedicated background and posting platform as well as using a reputable site such as http://videogames.pricecharting.com/ this will let you know what is in demand and where to sell. Advertisement and presentation is everything. These people dont get to see you face to face so your advertisement has to do the work of your personality and if the item is not in demand or is too common its simply not going to move or at least make you money. I use a simple rotational platform like this. presentation is half the battle. Marketing is the other.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that VG Price Charting is a reputable site, but it's certainly a stepping stone in figuring out what people want and for what price. Don't rely on it wholeheartedly, do your own research on Amazon, eBay and other selling sites (and dedicated forums too! eg. here, Nintendo Age, Sega Age, etc).
granted, I only looked at two of your auctions, but both said something like Apart from the slightly annoying formatting (imho), would you bid on something that mentions four times that it's incomplete and possibly broken (and doesn't say anything else but that)?
Yeah, I agree. Maybe OP could invest in some stuff to test things with at least? I only ever sell things as "untested" if I physically don't have the means (or the knowledge) to test them.
Yep, I just wish eBay was a bit more like Yahoo where junk=it almost definitely works but I can't test it...
Here's thing... If you're claiming that something is untested state why. Which a lot of Japanese sellers do mention it's because they have no controllers or cables. No explanation just seems dodgy to me, and sure people could send messages: Which barely any get posted.
Better photos is absolute key. Once sold a locked iPhone on ebay for overprice (with zero feedback). The pics I made were almost like stock pressrelease pics with a white background and different angles, crystal clear. I also watched other sellers who got it sold at high prices and completely ripped off their style of auction title and description
I get what you mean. Thats the site i see local game retailers using so I use it way more for my local sales and such forth. But you are right in that I have found discrepancies in areas such as "packages". Like a MW2 360, If absolutely everything that came with the package is not there it doesnt cover value decrease in those areas. I agree that you should never just price off one page but having a good area to start from never hurt.
