Theres no doubts left: the new X360s DONT have any 65nm chips, just the aforementioned port and the quieter BenQ drives. On the other hand recent tests show the PS3 is almost undestructible, which would be cool if it wasnt becos its a console with no games...
Thats what I think my replacement system looks like on the inside, at least it has that sink when I do the camera trick.
Did MS actually say "all the new consoles will have the new chip?" if so how have the screwed "us" again?
Did you personally buy one of the newer consoles hoping for a 65nm chip? If not, what's the issue exactly?
What about posting something constructive? Besides, it has been said in earlier posts that MS is doing slowly circulating them into current stock instead of doing a full fledged release. They don't people to not buy the older models and have many stores out there now have stock of X360s they can't sell. November is when you are almost guaranteed a 65nm model. Kotaku is shit anyway.
They might as well advertise "Xbox 360, will die sometime soon and when it does we'll give you a replacement after we've attempted to repair it a few times first and we're scared of a class action lawsuit". Anyway the 65nm chips, if microsoft have a lot of chips left over then they are going to use them first before they use the newer chips. If they are used in the Elite then buy an elite and stop whinging about how life isn't treating you right. Although If I was Bill Gates I would be hunting down the guy that designed and authorised the heatsinks and grill their nuts over a few dead 360s.
Yeah, it is pretty trashy they will die, but that first old unit I had lasted me 6 months, and most peoples last them years. This one I have now was manufactured 11 days ago, definetly runs cooler, faster, blah blah. Might as well just get one and enjoy it, I wouldn't be playing the system rigth now after it died twice if it sucked!
