http://jacksonville.com/news/crime/...y-interrupting-farmville-pleads-guilty-murder If I was the judge she would be her whole life in the solitare where she would not have access in any device (computer, netbook, iOS etc) where she would play this piece of crap. Why so much addiction over a lame farming game since there are more interesting games of this kind like Harvest Moon and Rune Factory? Of course some of you would aswer me "Come on now! Do you believe they know these games?" or "Because it's on Facebook, why else? They won't play any other games if it's not on Facebook." but still.
"stop crying you little motherfucker! My pigs will not feed themselves...!!" Stupid bitch. Hope she gets life in prison for this. That plus surgery so she can never ever ever have a child again Or sex for that matter
I'd go for the death penalty on this, but then I know some people would disagree. I mean hell, some other deranged mother may have killed her baby while she was enthralled with farmville and she just assumed it must have been her. Don't want to be too hasty in dishing out the punishment.
Even thought I'm against death penalty for many reasons it wouldn't be a bad idea to make an exception for this stupit bitch.
This. Oh and doesn't this seem a little like that case in korea a few months back were the couple left their kid to starve and took care of a virtual one instead? If a game gets you so addicted you end up killing your kids, you have something wrong with you and should get either life in prison or the death penalty. And reading the article and seeing her picture, I can't help but wonder "Who would have kids with that?!"
It's at least comforting to know that it wasn't actually the game that did this. She was obviously pretty fucked-up or just a complete idiot to endanger her child.
Well, yeah, as far as I know there hasn't been a single game yet that can actually cause completely healthy people to kill. And Farmville is stupid.
Actually farmville and it's maker zynga could be charged for this. That company doesnt have that many devs as it does have marketing experts and even behavioral scientists working for them. They actually make the gameplay as cheap and repetitive as possible so the player never gets enough, and cannot actually win the game since there's no real ending (even Spore had one). Is like a cheap drug: you never get as high as with quality stuff, but its extremely addictive and will destroy your life. No wonder that a marketing research found that most farmville users were unemployed and depressed, just like crack addicts. Thats how zynga went from nothing to being several times the size of older companies like Popcap. AFAIK is the only company thats has been able to twist FB's arm to get special treatment.
Games like Spore and PvZ, have repetitive addicting gameplay, but you get an end. This is designed to get people to play and spend money on it. From what you say about the no behavioral scientists it sounds almost like they don't care about the players and the negative impact this could have on them. Where as games like Spore, release expansions every so often, not every other week or so, and they actually have a storyline(and are actually fun). So you're probably right, in the fact that they could be charged. I don't know. Bet she'll be sad when she gets out(if it's still around at that time) and her crops are dead
