Jade Empire sequel is in the works, which seems to have stirred both positive and negative reactions in equal measures. Personally I loved the original and look forward to seeing what the sequel will bring. How do you guys feel about this game? Anyone here feel as negative about this as some of the posters on Joystiq? If so, why?
I normally pass on Electronic Arts products. Their PR and quality control has improved a little over the past year, but memories of how they screwed up the Origin and Maxis properties still loom large in my mind. I don't expect anything different from the Bioware buyout. BTW, did you mean to use a different subject header there?
wtf, If you put that topic header to gain attension. You should be beaten with a large stick. This isn't IGN/neogaf/kiddy forum. :|
I thought this was the National Association of Marlon Brando Look Alikes... "Look what they've done to my boy!"
Betrayal! Can't say I care about Jade Empire. Why am I here? Because I definitely DO care about the Saturn... *grumble*grumble* ~Krelian
It's okay. Jade Empire was a breath of fresh air when compared to a standard JRPG or any fantasy game with Tolkienesque weapons and races. There really hasn't been a game world that's so well drawn from Asian culture, although to be fair there really haven't been that many attempts in the past. You can sum up the game as Knights of the Old Republic with mystic kung fu nonsense in place of the force. And while there's a similar good guy/bad guy dialogue menu system in place, it really doesn't give you a whole lot of roleplay choices or divergent paths. So while it's probably worth playing for you, unfortunately it doesn't bear replaying at all.
Not to bring this thread off-topic (as if it wasn't already), where'd you get that avatar, graciano1337? I really like it. I know what it is, I was just wondering who made it.
Jade Empire was too much of a watered down KOTOR to be any good. Did it even do well enough to warrant a sequel?
i like it a lot, too! i just did a google image search for "companion cube" and it sent me to this site. http://www.geekanerdblog.com/2007/10/portal-authority-everything-good-on.html there's some other fan art on the site, too. i was actually looking for a different picture of the companion cube... EDIT: They also got the end song downloadable, too.
While I can see a good Half Life movie being done in the future, I just cant imagine a Portal movie that isnt completely different from the game, thus losing its appeal. Anyway, remember kids: the cake is a lie!
No need for the harsh reactions guys. I did originally post what I thought were Saturn VF3 screens from Saturn Junkyard but they turned out to be poor Model 3 emulator screens (http://thesaturnjunkyard.blogspot.com/2007/12/virtua-fighter-3-saturn-screenshots.html). Rather than leave the thread as it was and raise the hopes of VF/Saturn fans illegitimately, I tried to delete it. For some reason though you can't delete threads on this board, so instead I tried to change it to something else that was on my mind, which was the Jade Empire sequel. Turns out that the board doesn't allow you to do that very well either. Having used PHPBB-based boards for a while that give you control over what you post, I was quite surprised to find such limitations in what is a pretty basic requirement on any forum. Anyway, sorry guys. Oh and hl718, your attempt at "humour" there is particularly unhelpful. I would have expected someone of such rank to behave in a more mature and responsible manner. I guess that's too much to ask for from some people though. Perhaps an admin could do what I should have been able to do and alter the topic title to "Jade Empire sequel" to avoid further confusion?
