Does anyone know what causes the Jag CD to display a screen indicating the CD unit power supply needs to be connected when it IS connected firmly, not dirty, and putting out the right voltage?

My Jag CD recently started doing this. I fiddled with it until it started working normally again, but I'm told this is a sign of a bigger problem. I just can't find much on it.

Check the solder joints for the power port for cracks, co-ax connectors like to do this when not mechanically isolated (only the Sega Genesis model 1 does that).
