I acquired two PSP systems, both of them the 3001 models.
I want to jailbreak one of them for development and homebrew.
Both systems have firmware 6.60 on them.

I had a PSP a few years ago that I jailbroke but it was a temp jailbreak that kept erasing everytime I reset the PSP.

I need one that is permanent and easy to do. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Id google it, but I keep getting those scam sites. Thanks.

For the love of Madoka stop calling it that! call it anything else but that!

Now that I got that out of my system lets begin ^__^
what you would need is either ME or PRO as they simply are the best CFW's ever made but I digress, a 3k PSP is simply not going to be able to have that permanent CFW you are looking for as the PreIPL was never cracked but honestly what is so hard about using the launcher? LME and PRO are full CFW with the only difference to the old ones being that you need to manually start it via said launcher which takes no more then 10 seconds

If you would like cIPL and thus a permanent CFW then you will need a 1k or a pre TA-88v3 mobo 2k ==> mobo list ==> http://www.zload.net/bilder/Motherboard Overview.png

There is no real difference to ME and PRO just that ME tends to have better support for old homebrew while PRO has a better ISO driver and PRO Online to play some ad-hoc games online

Also checkout PSPLink as you will be needing it for dev work but it's included in the toolchain, Tho said toolchain is very old and the updated one is broken at the moment tho its very slowly being fixed

Thanks. I feel a bit dumb as to how easy it was to do.

I am a developer and plan to develop visual novels for the PSP. We already ported the Renpy novel engine to the PSVITA so we plan to port it to PSP as well so we can output our games onto the platform.

The Vita? via PSM? Anywhoo yea the PSP is very easy to deal with but there is a lot of info much of it being rather outdated so it might get a bit confusing

Our game will be released through PSN for Vita, homebrew on PSP. Licensing cost is too high for us to target two platforms at once. :p

Don't think Sony would like that...They might penalize you.

You'd be surprised, if there is money in it then I doubt they'd care. But moving forward you'd probably have to leave any ideas of new PSP stuff behind.

There have been quite a few cases of people hacking together dev kits and using pirate sdk's to produce something and then going official later on.
