Just looking around trying to spend my lone 500 points when I noticed that Super Mario Brothers: Lost Levels and Mario Picross are up for 600 and 900 points respectively. Picross caries a note that it may contain Japanese text while Mario says for a limited time only and will be gone at the end of September. Both have a yellow sun logo on a blue square next to the name in the main screen. Could it be the first PAL Nintendo machine I bother with actually gets treated well for a change? Here's hoping we will also get US titles that never made it before too. UPDATE:
Sin & Punishment ! Nice ! I'll be downloading that. Maybe us in Japan will get some western only releases? An English version of Chrono Trigger wouldn't go a miss but I strongly doubt it. Yakumo
That's what I have been hoping for ever since I heard about VC: worldwide access to the whole software libraries of SNES/SFC, N64 and Co. When they start publishing also more obscure titles (Nintendo Power and BS-X exclusives) and drop prices it will be a dream come true. So, Sin and Punishment will be the first game I'll download. And have you noticed that finally also Neo Geo games are scheduled for this month in Japan (Fatal Fury, World Heroes, Magician Lord for 900 points each)? Will check if they're already available as soon as I get home.
Sounds like they're doing a trial run to see if imports are worth the effort to sell full time. Hope it does well.
Yeah I would pick up Sin and Punishment if it comes up in the US. Are they translating some of these, or are they as-is?
Knowing how shitty NoA has supported the virtual console, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get it. I mean, we are pretty much the last in line to get new releases, and many times get things weeks or months after Europe got theirs. Oh well, PAL regions still have to put up with games coming out far longer for normal games, so it is a fair tradeoff.
Short update: no release of either Neo Geo games or Sin and Punishment on the Japanese VC yet. Just the announcement.
