Over the years many of those of us who live(d) in Japan will have seen some interesting English t-shirt slogans (not really Engrish, just odd phrases)

    Thought i'd start a thread

This morning at Ebisu , young teen girl, tshirt slogan :
"You're next on my to do list"

    Please feel free to add!

The playboy clothes seem to be quite popular in Japan, although a lot of them seem to be on sale cheap in the discount clothing stores.

That was amazing, I couldn't stop laughing, a lot T-shirts have sexually oriented phrases, but nothing so direct like "Lets fuck".

Rule #1. Know what your kids clothing actually says. That way they don't end up as perv candy.

Saw "Ich existiere im Zeitgeist" once (I exist in the Zeitgeist, sounds just as wrong in the original German version though). I noticed quite some shirts with random German or French words on it that supposedly just sound cool to non-French/German speaking (Japanese) people like "Concorsion", "Schreckgespenst", "Zackengestalt" or "Froideur".

Lets not forget the rediculous things North American's wear from Asia and the like. Oh, and not to mention tattoos which can't be removed :p

I'd never forget about those. There're so many girls with an "愛"-Kanji (love) on their shoulders, I'd love to be of Asian origin and tell them convincingly it was something dirty so they remove it.

When they ask you to write down something so they can get a tattoo, just give them the menu for Manchu Wok :p

reminds me of the story of the two English guys who got Japanese girls to write out thier names in katakana whilst drunk, the next day they went and got the tats done, but the idiots had somehow got the names the wrong way round. I remember the article saying that one of them clicked when he went to Ibiza the next year and some Japanese girls were cooing "helllo Steve!" when his name was something like John.

Anyways, yeah - i remember going back to the UK just before the Japan world cup and River Island having this whole range of t-shirts for each country with the "japanese" for each team across it. Yeah, not quite - the Mrs was in fits of laughter, they'd even made their own characters up to throw in there! :D

As per bad English in Japan, how difficult is it just have someone check this stuff?
