At this point I have all the Consoles I'll play games on sold off what I'm not. I'd like to get a Japanese computer to tie everything together but seems like an expensive proposition. An FM Towns seems a bit expensive. X68000s seem to have a few issues. Then there's the sexy PC 98 and I know nothing. Then there the cost involved. So who collects stuff for Japanese computers?
like Nintendo for Japanese PC NEC PC-88/98 series were the kings of the hill. still there were many other models and personally I used FM-7 as well as PC-8001 (later updated to PC-8801MkIISR if I recall correctly) as part of the micro mouse competition during my student time. I brought all my gears when I moved countries but during my stay at the university college (it's the university dormitory called here) my dad threw out all my stuff when he moved the house from one state to the other. Meant to rebuild my collection but life got in the way and here we are. (I ended up collect the game consoles instead)
How easy/affordable is the PC 88/98 to collect for? I feel like a Japanese computer is just the missing piece my collection needs.
