Hi all, Just received my Japanese FZ-1 Panasonic 3DO in the post, and noticed on the rear it has a switch saying 'MODE SELECT A B'. Anyone got any idea what this is? Cheers
That mode select switch pulls a control line of the video encoder high or low to select between progressive or interlaced NTSC video output.
@bitrate does that mean you can use a FZ-1 in progressive scan mode with all games? That's pretty cool if so. Did all models have this option?
I've got a Japanese FZ-1 coming in the mail. It's not here yet, but the auction photos of the back don't show any such switch on mine.
Yes, you can play all games in progressive mode with the consoles that have this option. It was only available on Japanese FZ-1 units, and even then, as dark mentioned above, not all FZ-1's were given this ability.
