I have a question for a friend. He's going to get internet service for his shop and it's been a while since I got mine set up so I'm not really sure how the competition stacks up anymore. I signed up with BBIQ and at the time they were the fastest with Yahoo second and JCOM a distant third. From what I've heard Yahoo has taken a pretty big leap forward. I've also noticed that over time my BBIQ speed has decreased somewhat. It's hard to tell since I can't find a Japanese server on SpeedTest.net anymore. Has anyone signed up recently? Any new news or new #1? Thanks
Really depends on location. It's hard to say, in general, if one is faster than another. They're all sickeningly fast though, so I wouldn't sweat it. My office has interwebs through the building, and it's shit. It has some DNS bottleneck. I've called many times but they only employ retarded monkeys to work the phones. I've asked for a technician and I've been told they don't have any in the office. Seriously, it's a middle-aged woman every time. I almost made one cry once. To get around it I route all DNS-based service (web, mail) through a proxy -- my fucking house.
