If someone from another country told me that they enjoyed the british culture.That would make me happy and proud of that fact.

 

I 100% agree! why is it a terrible thing to love Japan and Asian stuff nowadays compared to the early 2000's or late 1990's?! It's completely unfair for the new kids on the block to enjoy it without getting massive shit thrown down their thoats from racist individuals or assholes that wants to shove everyone's opinions to your face while having no rights to yourself.

 

It really depends. If you are a weeaboo, then you will get shit. Everyone knows what anime is, and most anime includes cartoon girls with big tits. Therefore, the assumption is you need an anime waifu and people won't like that. Not to mention, for a lot of weeaboos, they have low social skills as well. Perhaps the quiet kid likes anime, making him even more weird. This is coming from someone who does not like Japan that much at all. If you like anime, keep it to yourself. And for the love of god, do not say random japanese words in your sentences. I had one friend who would frequently say "oh deska..." or something like that and I was extremely emberassed. I used to like asian culture until I realized something... I hate asian food very much. And sushi is just bland. My girlfriend is an international student from China, however she seems to love America so I got lucky on that.

 

Probably at least partly to do with the fact that old anime was all fighting and giant robots and tentacle rape, whereas now it's all about being in love with your prepubescent sister and that sort of thing.

 

Because they see you as the virgin loser, back in the 90s to 00s school people saw it as awesome, then in the 10s they switched to all night parties, alcohol, drugs and sex.

It's pretty much the same thing with videogames at least here in my country, those who rejected were pretty much the girls at the time, then at the 10s, where everybody pretty much have an console at their homes, most have a distaste of VG and anime enthusiasts.

 

pretty accurate, cuz that's the same thing that happened to everyone in the west pre-internet (before the boom that it is today) liked it, nowadays you got ones that hates it to death while ones that still loves it to this day no matter what anyone says.
