Does anyone here live in japan and can buy a mobile phone jammer?
It's called something like CX-200 and has a big button on the front of it that you press to cut off someone's phone call.
If you can buy me one, e-mail me! =)

Why would you want something like that? Pointles unless you want to piss a few people off. Anyway, the answer to your question is no. Never saw them.

Isn't this the sort of thing that the FCC (or your English equivilant) would hunt you down for using?

Hot damn I want one of these. You wouldn't know how often (always) my train rides are marred by 325 stupid people having loud, pointless, conversations on their cell phones, like talking to a person that's actually near you is impossible. Actually, a portable EMP would be better.

Yeah, EMPs will be so cool... but you might want to be careful using one of those on a train though!

Especially if you kill someone with a pacemaker.

You cna make you're own. Just take Electronic Engineering courses and do the opposite when it comes to making a "positive" radio frequency. :D

Doesn't work like that... nor would it or should it affect a pacemaker, although high magnetic charges would.

I work in a shop part time and we must get 20 people a day who walk in, go upto the counter and talk loudly about "LAST NIGHT" and "SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY" then walk out... without buying anything.
During their conversation you can't talk in the shop anyway, as it's a bad signal inside the shop. people shout down the phone thinking they'll be able to hear them better. And repeat what they say around 4 times.

    Grr.

If one of my students' phones rings, it's out of the classroom, no matter what (unless he or she convinces me, before or after class, it was an emergency). It's disrespectful and annoying.

I fucking hate people who let their cell phones ring in school, or the movies. Some people even take them to church (I don't go. I'm not religious at all. But if I were, it would offend me that someone that's supposed to be a believer would disrespect the house of their god like that).
I would definitely love signal jammers placed in the classrooms or at least in movie theatres.

xerdopwerko: it is "illegal" to have you phone on in the classroom in DK so i fucking hate it too

but if i am in a public place (not theatres or movie theatres) i will sms but not disturb other people.

did you know that the SMS service is a danish invention ?

SMS has, actually, decreased the "phone ringing" thing, but most of the over 40 crowd, especially the rich ones, don't know shit about sending messages.
Also, they still distrupt the class or the movie if they have "sound" on.

I didn't know it was a Danish invention.
Other than Colour TV, I don't know of many mexican inventions.
