To quote the kid from asdfmovie2, "I like trains". Unfortunately here in Poland, the best we can get is 100mph which is 160kmph. I'm interested in the Japanese railways, the shinkansen and other JR lines, is there a good documentary about this? Google only got me "waitin for a train" which is not about trains :p

If you can understand Japanese then there are plenty of videos. Do a search on google japan on japanese kanji of Shinkansen (I can't enter it as it turns into random character blocks, regardless of entry system). Click the third black text on the top for videos.

There's a nice 45min German documentary about Japanese trains (actually it's a series of train documentaries, 10 parts of 45min each - one episode is about Japan). Sadly I don't know about a subtitled version, but German and maybe French (as it was an arte-production) soundtracks exist.
It's very good and provides a nice look at several kinds of Japanese trains (Yamanote, Shinkansen, historic routes, cog railways...). The title is "Mit dem Zug durch Japan".
