A local junk shop has a complete Sony Yaroze (I think anyway...) and I was wondering apart from the Manauls does the software have any English menus / options?
To be complete, it should include the NY unit, 2 CD-ROMs (one for the NY, the other for the PC), the access dongle (like a black memory card) & the serial cable/adaptor to go between the NY & the PC. NY units will work with access dongles & software (including the PC software) from any region. My JP CDs remain sealed (since I use the US ones I already had), so I can't confirm the presence of English menus on the JP software. UJ might be able to help with that, though. Additionally, instead of using the JP PC software, I believe that you can use the 3rd party alternatives of psxcomm or minicons.
Forget the menus, it's commandline only! You can find 3rd party replacements for the communication software anyway, the original won't work under xp/vista/whatever anyway...
True, but I'm curious - does the JP version of siocons have Japanese, or English text on it's prompts etc? Additionally, I seem to remember finding some of the Japanese binaries under the SCEI directory of the US disc, so maybe the JP disc has US binaries too (assuming that they're actually different)?
Looks english to me, it just hangs there so I can't display the help screen though...pc98 crap! Most of the binaries are in english, except for the GUI programs found on the disc, one for converting 3d models and the other for converting bitmaps. The comments in the sample sources are in japanese as well.
