japanese washing up liquid

Why is it compared to western washing up liquid, Japanese washing up liquid is as thin as anything and normally requires more squirts to get washing done?

Because most Japanese detergents are poor compared to what we have in the UK. One squirt of Fairy Liquid could do what 3 or 4 squirts of the Japanese equivalent would. In fact most of the best detergents used in Japan are all western. Ever tried Japanese bleach compared to Demestos? It's shite. Couldn't remove the skids on a kids underpants :lol:

Japan is years ahead in many aspects but food hygiene and detergents in general it's not. It's probably because of the people in charge not knowing their arse from their elbow as usual.

WTF is Lava?

 

Lava is hand soap that has little chunks of pumice in it. It feels really gritty, almost like liquid sandpaper ( does that even make sense:shrug, but it will get car grease off of your hands better than anything else.

 

Not exactly the stuff I want to clean my plates and cups with... Still gald that someone has said that Japanese washing up liquid is crap, my gf didn't believe me when I said UK washing up liquid is much much better and thicker.

Ah, I know the stuff. My dad used to have buckets of green slime that was used to wash car oil and grease off hands when he was a mechanic. That stuff had a gritty touch to it.

Stuff is great to have around, but like Jamtex said, I wouldnt use it for dishes and such. Never knew that the soap over there was like that though.

Yep, I have seen Pulp Fiction but it was about 15 years ago or so. Not sure when it was released. Don't remember Lava in it though. Then again All I remember is the diner with Mr. Saturday Night Fever and Jackson followed by the back seat of the car and finally Bruce Wills entering the gimp basement.

So is "washing up liquid" a common term? I assume it is what we would call dish soap..

Do you also use the term "washing up solid" or "washing up bar/ stick"?

Tesco 2 for £2 on fairy liquid. No its only really washing up liquid otherwise its soap for normal bar/stick of soap. We also get dishwasher tablets. Washing powder/detergent for clothes and fabric softener.

 

Dawn pwns every dish detergent out there that doesn't eat away at your hands...
