    Need 50 post to sell.
    ~500$ depends on the condition.

It all depends on condition, provenance and paperwork. If there is no documented history and if the seals on the unit are broken or missing, it's not going to be worth much at all.

Prototypes were used to test that hardware and then sent off to be destroyed. Many of those ended up on the grey market because the companies that were paid to destroy them, didn't. When you have "free" inventory, it makes them easy to sell cheaply.

Things that will increase the value:
    1) History of ownership
    2) Sidecar
    3) Original documentation
    4) Original box
    5) Software
    6) Development Kit vs Test Kit configuration

Memory size is standard, so there is nothing to see there.

If you can provide more information you'll get a better estimate, but offhand a prototype kit is going to be on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of price.

Those who do actual dev work will prefer a final kit and collectors will usually seek out variants with noticeable differences (such as a Beta kit). The interim hardware prototypes and things like stress test kits were run hard and then sent off to die, so they're at the bottom of the list in terms of desirability.

I would say that the numbers thrown out in this thread so far (barring any more information) are all on the optimistically high side and rely on finding buyers who don't follow the dev scene. You can often find working Test Kits for much less than $400-500. The simple fact that SO MUCH hardware leaked out of Microsoft and its recycling companies means that supply is good.

EDIT: Oh. Nevermind. Just noticed you weren't to 50 post yet. ::waits::
