Simple question. Can I use joysticks meant to replace xbox 360 joysticks for original xbox controllers? I got a crystal system that's in amazing shape, except for it's joysticks. I can only find "360" ones and just wanted to make sure I could use them before I bought them. Also, does anyone have instructions on how to replace these things? Thanks daytonausa
well i ant tell for 100% sure(maybe for 90% ) but as I remember the original Xbox ones have the same kind of "hole" (kinda oval), so they should fit [as mentioned before Im not 100% sure if they fit! you better wait for someone elses verification] exchanging the is easy BTW, just open the controller (if you´ve got the old big controllers you dont even have to destroy a warranty seal), then you just need to pull the old joystickes from the stick that goes into the "potentiometer cube" (idk if theres any name for that thing) and put the new ones on the stick, then reassemble and ta-da youre done
Ok good to know. I know that if you put xbox joysticks on 360 pads you lose some of the joysticks range because the bottom cup is bigger than a 360's. However, it going the other way around, is think it would be fine as the smaller cup from the 360 wouldn't restrict the joysticks movement. We'll see.
I have the xbox 1 joysticks and d pad on my 360 contoller and they work great, also I threw the 360 joysticks and d pad on my xbox 1 controller and it worked just fine. There interchangeable.
yes ps2 joy sticks and xbox xbox 360 are all the same i have repaired a few fat old xbox controllers the duke ones.
