Anyone thinking of doing a midnight buy once we finally get the date confirmed. Still trying to make up my mind whether i really need a modern console (DC, SS and PSvita) are seemingly enough for me these days but I am tempted. So, is anyone in the Tokyo area thinking of making a night of it or are we all too old these days?
It would be a cool experience to participate in an overnight launch in Japan. If I was there, I would probably do it even though I have zero interest in the PS4... but how many console launches will there be left to experience after that? Maybe 1, or 2... Of course it would have been way cooler to do when the Super Famicom, N64 or Sega Dreamcast came out.
What day is it releasing in Japan? In the U.S we have Nov. 15th as the day we can pick up our pre-orders.
I've only done one over night and that was for Dreamcast. That was cool. For the Wii I was waiting from 5am at the local store in my car with the heaters on watching a DVD while all the soft sods out side were freezing cold in a line. We all had tickets anyway so it's not as if waiting in the cold would get you your console faster.
Where did you buy your Dreamcast Yakumo? That must of been a fun launch and most all did you meet YUKAWA?
It was bought from one of the main street stores in Akihabara! I lived in nakameguro at the time. I don't remember the name of the store or even if it's still there but I can tell you that it was a big popular store on the same side as Akihabara station and had a row TV screens high up demoing consoles. Maybe about 10 or so shops up from where the main street starts. I didn't see Yukawa but the atmosphere was great! We all had tickets and given free coffee, well, those of us near the front did. I was in the top 20 people !! Although my friend and I sort of cheated. We took shifts for waiting in line He also bought a Dreamcast on day one but was number 280 something.
