Well this is something I came by recently. Due to the relative rarity of Judgement Silversword, and the limited nature of this item - I thought it belonged here. Given it is rather hard to find the game - finding the pre-order items is a real trial - I got lucky! Now with the release of judgement Silversword there was a special disc released - numbered from 1 to 100 which only show a full superplay of the game. These are of course rather expensive, but not impossible to find. With the rebirth edition there was a second disc released which is of equal rarity. It was only given away with the pre-order along with the wonderwitch neck strap. However, not all preorders came with it - mine did not. So I had to get this seperately. Plus the crowning glory is the commercially unreleased wonderwitch game Cardinal Sins. Cardinal sins is another shooter built using the same JS engine. I have never seen the whole game superplay before so this was a real treat for me. The final boss really shows some great effects that push the wonderswan to the limit! (while going surreal black and white!) Anyway there is about 650 megs of quality footage here, when I have more time I might make it available in some fashion... I am just so chuffed to find this disc - as I really like this game, this is a really big deal for me.
Good find, I have yet to pick up a copy of JS, it tends to go for stupid money on English language sites.
Cool - good price. JS usually goes for over 10000 yen if it comes with the extras. The real problem I have found is getting the stuff individually. I got my copy of JS without any of the pre-order stuff, which has caused me no end of trouble as you only ever see the pre-order stuff with the game. It is the same deal as getting rarer telephone cards without having to buy the game as well. Anyhoo, I am just going to hand around till I find the 1st Special disc available (it is not worth going through too much bother as the 2nd disc has all the replay stuff the first has anyway.)
No, it does not. It is around 8000 Yen with extras if everything is in new condition. Plus you are talking about the fourth print of the game. Game only in brand-new & unopened condition sells for 7000 Yen in Japan at the moment. Some online stores have it in stock at that price too. Regarding the different versions & goodies: ・ the original game which won the WonderWitch Programming Grand Prix 2001 wasn't distributed at all and came in different packaging. Same happened with Dicing Knight. These not-for-sale versions are the real rarities. ・ the later released second print is what you refer to as Judgement Silversword. Indeed there is the special disc limited to 100 only. But it was randomly drawn and packed with 100 pre-orders. So you had to pre-order and you had to be very lucky to be one of the 100 winners. ・ the third print of the game never came with any (pre-order) goodies and was called Re-Birth Edition. ・ the final one (again re-birth edition) came with the stuff you talk about, but EVERY pre-order was shipped with strap & disc. This is the difference compared to the second (Judgement Silversword February 2004 release) version. So it is NOT of equal rarity. But you're right, finding the extras only can be hard. M.
Well the 10000yen I was quoting was what a couple of stores in denden were selling it for last year. I'm sure it can be had cheaper (as you said) but that was the price I saw it for in the big stores in Osaka. They even had in retro game revival serial number 1/100 of the 1st special disc, with a serious price tag! Thanks for clearing up the different releases for me, I was not aware of the differences between the 3rd and 4th print. It looks like I pre-ordered the 3rd release with that in mind. You don't have any pics of the different packaging for the original nfs release do you?
Btw is the game worth buying ? 80$ seems a bit much for me I would appreciate to see some pics and/or 1-2 small movies
I really like this game, but then I really like (nearly) all shooters. It plays like a fairly classic shooter with a barrier for protection and scoring. Along with that it has some quite cool layered patterns towards the end. It is fairly hard, while it is generous with the extends you will fnd yourself dying a lot and you really need to plan ahead for some of the patterns influenced by your location. If you do get it, pop it on the swancrystal as you really need to be able to see as clearly as possible and do try and get it with the pre-order disc(s). I think of it as the showpiece game of the WS, great graphics and depth considering it is a handheld and it is hardly going to loose value anytime soon. If you like shooters or want a rare game I would get it. I would say half the price is for rarity and the other half for the great gameplay.
