Jungle Taitei/Kimba the White Lion (Unreleased Famicom game by Taito)

Anyone around here know much about this unreleased game for the famicom?

Whats weird is it was almost ready to be released in Spring 1990 but for unknown reasons never did. I'm assuming to make room and hype for the SNES or thought it wouldn't sell with said system coming out.

There were more than one.
A N64 game to be published by Nintendo was canned in late '90.

 

Actually according to the page I've linked there was supposed to be one on the gamecube as well, but little to nothing was mentioned about that one as well.

 

Just a rumor from what I remember.

Kimba was briefly cited in an Iwata Ask not long ago, if you are interested.
