Just how rare is the original 97' NTSC U Bandai Playstation DragonBall GT: Final Bout again? Most people may remember that the game used to go for over $100 on eBay, until the game got re-relased for the Sony Playstation. Prices dropped drastically, some by 90%. ...would Suikoden II go through the same ordeal, once re-released for the PSP?
I'd check it in the Digitpress online rarity list but it's always down... makes you wonder if they want you to buy the printed version.
Pretty much nowhere near what it used to be thanks to the second pressing. Cross platform doesn't seem to affect prices too much, psp versus psone.. However harvest moon took a big hit when it came out on psx.
I use to own two copies DragonBall GT: Final Bout. But some how I broke one and the other one I let my friend borrow it and never saw it again.Oh well there not worth much today if I had them.I still have the jap version I got for 5 bucks a couple of years ago.
Rare enough to be $10-$14.99 in the bargain bin section at Circuit City - even less at the chain gamestores. The rerelease really hosed down the prices. It's things like that, that warm my heart - even if I hated the game.
You've seen the original DBGT in Circuit City bargain bins? Not the re-release, but the original with the distinctly different cover art and everything? I certainly haven't, last I checked it was still worth at least $50, maybe more. After all, the non-GH copies of FF: Tactics are still worth some money, certainly more than the GH reprints.
Hang on to suikoden II, one of the best RPGs ever made IMO. Play it and cherish it. If you hate rpgs on the other hand, probably best to sell now, even though I don't see the price being knocked down that much. Its not like its the same game being re-released. This is a new version on a smaller screen, without the high quality music or any other advantages the PSone has over the PSP.
Imagine Radiant Silvergun or Panzer Dragoon Saga being ported to PSP or PS2, how would the hardcore collectors react? =)
Not really. Actually I disagree, wouldn't a hardcore gamer own a great game because it's a great game - not because of it's monetary value? ~Krelian
